Here is a simple and easy way to make a pancake batter. Always remember 1:1:1, that is 1 cup flour, 1 cup milk and 1 egg. Measurements here are in volume and not in weight!
You can use this batter for savoury or sweet pancakes. If you wish, you may also add half teaspoon of vanilla extract and a tablespoon of sugar into your batter for a sweet pancake.
Pancake Batter
- 1 cup plain flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1 egg
- Pinch of salt
-
In a large bowl, mix all ingredients together until well combined.
-
Put your pan on a medium high heat. Heat a tablespoon of oil and pour one ladleful of your batter, spreading it around your pan.
-
Cook on one side until golden brown and flip it to the other side. Cook for about 1 minute and remove from the pan.
-
Do the same with the rest of the batter.
In this recipe, amounts of flour and milk are not based on weight but volume.
